Maintenance and Facilities Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for a Maintenance and Facilities Specialist to provide daily cleaning and upkeep of the building and property and assist with general maintenance and repairs. Responsibilities also include assisting with meeting and event set-up activities for MOFC's internal and external customers to ensure a safe, secure and prepared environment for staff and visitors.

Successful candidate must be available to work a flexible 40-hour work week, including, but not limited to Monday-Friday between the hours 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Weekend and/or night hours may be required to support operational needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean, dust and wipe furniture, sweep, mop and vacuum floors, empty waste baskets throughout the building.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms daily and refill soap and towel dispensers.
• Clean and buff hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Clean and touch up accessible interior and exterior windows.
• Keep a detailed inventory of all supplies on a weekly basis
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including buffers, scrubbers, and other floor machines.
• Assist with exterior grounds maintenance including snow and ice removal and general outside maintenance.
• Assist with minor semi-skilled interior and exterior building maintenance and repairs, such as painting, floor covering, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and other work.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of rooms for internal and external events.
• Staff after-hour events and have primary responsibility for closing and locking the building at end of shift in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours.
• Participate in special projects and assignments at the request of the Maintenance/Facilities Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED required. Must have a valid Driver's License.

Experience: Two or more years of combined experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the primary duties. Working knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in building cleaning and grounds maintenance, including glass cleaning, carpet extraction and stain removal. Working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor building repairs.

Skills/Competencies: Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and in a team environment. Excellent customer service and communication skills required. Ability to learn, adapt quickly to organizational change, and to identify and respond quickly to real time needs.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Warehouse and office environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
