JOB SUMMARY:

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team at Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC), the Senior Vice President of Development is directly responsible for the planning and implementation of the comprehensive fundraising efforts and initiatives that generate individual, foundation, and corporate philanthropic support for MOFC.


PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Provide leadership, vision, and strategic thinking to generate the financial resources neededto support Foodbank operating expenses, endowment fund, and capital projects.
  • Develop long-term fundraising strategy and annual fundraising plan utilizing various metrics, forecasting revenue and developing a corresponding budget.
  • Responsible for meeting annual goals related to revenue generation and budget.
  • Oversee and support all Development activities including; grant writing, direct mail, special events, major gifts, planned giving, donor cultivation and stewardship, gift acknowledgement, recognition events, reporting, and maintenance of donor database.
  • Cultivate, strengthen and maintain strategic relationships with key donors providing a high level of donor satisfaction and involvement.
  • Analyze and evaluate donor base and external relationships to identify opportunities for new and increased revenue.
  • Participate in strategic planning and management activities.
  • Provide regular updates to CEO, Board and leadership team regarding activities.
  • Work in collaboration with other departments to ensure strong working relationships which foster a cohesive and creative work environment, including significant engagement with marketing in affiliated activities and goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with MOF team members and stakeholders.
  • Committed to organizational mission of ending hunger.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Directs employees including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary.
  • Participates in special projects as necessary.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in related field is required. AFP certification strongly preferred.

Experience: At least seven years of experience leading a fundraising department within a nonprofit organization and a demonstrated record of significant achievement in fundraising as well as major/planned gift philanthropy. Extensive knowledge of fundraising principles and processes. Experience managing or overseeing fundraising programs that use online giving, electronic fund transfers, direct dialogue, and other platforms in addition to direct mail to generate significant unrestricted revenue.

Skills/Competencies: Ability to develop strategic relationships with a strong culture of giving among donors. Strong political savvy. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated leadership ability with ability to be agile and strategic in decision making and planning, and possessing strong organizational skills. Conflict resolution skills also preferred.


JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Occasional travel may be required. Applicants must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
