JOB SUMMARY:

Serves on the Development leadership team and is responsible for co-creating and executing departmental-level strategies to achieve annual fundraising goals. Serves as the team expert in Individual Giving. Will be highly involved in the creation of a robust major gift plan with a focus on principal gifts, as well as driving strategy for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals that have the capacity to make $100,000+ gifts. In partnership with the annual giving manager, the director will evaluate and reinvigorate all individual giving strategies to support the mission and programs of Mid-Ohio Food Collective.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Adding value through idea sharing and execution of MOFC strategic priorities
  • Participate in development leadership team activities, including strategy sessions, team meetings, and board development committee meetings
  • Co-create and execute departmental-level strategy to ensure annual fundraising goals are achieved
  • Responsible for participating in annual revenue and expense forecasting for the department
  • Devise and implement Individual Giving strategies to support annual operating activities of the organization
  • Effectively lead a high performing major gift team, through the co-creation, implementation, and measurement of a comprehensive major gift plan with a focus on increasing six- and seven-figure gifts.
  • Manage leadership level and planned gift donor prospect portfolio with a focus on developing six-figure gift prospects.
  • Lead prospect strategy meetings with gift officers, annual giving, and related staff to review solicitation plans, validate individual solicitation strategies and ensure effective and appropriate stewardship plans for every managed donor.
  • Partner with development operations to ensure effective portfolio review and management.
  • Direct team members in areas including but not limited to performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions
  • Identify and address barriers to ensure success

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience is required.

Experience: Seven (7) years of development experience with a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated track record in soliciting and closing major gifts of at least $100,000. Three years of previous supervisory experience is required. Demonstrated experience in constituent relationship management software and Microsoft Office is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and relationship building skills are required. Demonstrated project management and time management skills are necessary.

Skills/Competencies: High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to represent MOF with professionalism when interacting with stakeholders. Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times. Proficient at task management and oversight, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, be flexible, and meet deadlines. Works well and effectively with others.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: Normal office environment with the possibility of a hybrid schedule. Occasional travel is required. External applicants must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
