JOB TITLE: Community Relations Coordinator
STATUS: Full Time, Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: VP of Marketing and Communications


Position is responsible for scheduling, managing, marketing, and facilitating logistics for Mid-Ohio Foodbank's meeting and community spaces; manages all tour requests and speaking engagements; handles and organizes inventory for on-site kiosk and all branded merchandise Engages, educates and increases the awareness about hunger with community groups and stakeholders to promote and advance the brand of Mid-Ohio Foodbank and provides administrative support to Marketing Dept.


  • Works with internal and external groups to schedule meetings and events in Mid-Ohio Foodbank's meeting and community space.
  • Provides logistical support and after-hours, on-site staffing for meetings and events in the meeting/community space including: audio/visual equipment, food, setup, tours, speakers, etc. as appropriate
  • Develops regular and ad hoc reports to track meeting space use.
  • Works with Marketing Team to develop plans to package and pitch Mid-Ohio Foodbank's meeting spaces.
  • Works with Marketing Team and other department representatives to plan and organize various special events for stakeholders/partners/etc.
  • Schedules and manages tour training & schedules, and conducts tours for external groups (including, but not limited to: school field trips, industry professionals, prospective donors, senior centers, and community and after-school organizations). Advises appropriate Mid-Ohio Foodbank staff on touch point opportunities.
  • Recruits, schedules & manages speakers' training for staff and volunteers and facilitates speaking engagements for the Foodbank's Neighbor to Neighbor Network (N2N).
  • Oversees and schedules Foodbank presence at community events.
  • Acts as the organizational liaison for Mid-Ohio Foodbank branded merchandise through various vendors, and develops/oversees management of on-site kiosk including logistics, budgeting, operations and product inventory/distribution.
  • Proactively reaches out to community groups (senior centers, schools, etc.) to educate stakeholders about Mid-Ohio Foodbank, vision, mission and priorities.
  • Assists the Media Relations Manager in tracking media coverage and promoting the Foodbank's work through social media channels
  • Acts as the traffic coordinator between other departments and the Creative Services team on all creative brief requests.
  • Handles print requests from all departments and works directly with printing vendors
  • Provides administrative support for the Marketing Team
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field required

Experience: At least 2-5 years of marketing and special event planning experience. Previous project management experience preferred.

Knowledge: An understanding of community relations, special events, and marketing/communications is required. Candidates should possess excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, be computer literate, demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and be detail-oriented.

Skills/Competencies: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Willingness to adjust to changing priorities. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to represent Mid-Ohio Foodbank with professionalism. High mission discernment capabilities.

Working Conditions: Normal Office Environment, ability to work a flexible schedule as needed for events
