What's your day like?

As a Benefits Outreach Manager at Mid-Ohio Food Collective, you can expect each day to be dynamic and fulfilling. Your role will involve strategizing and implementing outreach campaigns to connect individuals with vital resources and building and maintaining partnerships with community organizations. You will have the opportunity to lead a passionate team dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of others. Additional responsibilities include:

• Leading a team of dedicated professionals to travel throughout the MOFC service area and proactively reach out to our partner sites and other organizations to identify Ohio residents who may be eligible for SNAP/food stamp benefits.
• Facilitating education sessions and provide information about SNAP benefits, eligibility, and the application process.
• Coordinating resource events, presentations, public speaking engagements and other initiatives targeted to those that are food insecure.

Requirements for the Benefits Outreach Manager

To excel as a Benefits Outreach Manager at MOFC, you will need to possess strong communication and relationship-building skills to effectively collaborate with community partners and clients. Your ability to think creatively and problem-solve will be crucial in developing strategies to reach and support individuals in need. Being customer-centric is key, as you will be interacting with diverse populations and tailoring outreach efforts to meet their specific needs. Trustworthiness and reliability are essential traits as you handle sensitive information and work towards building trust within the community.

A bachelor's degree in Social/Human Services is preferred plus at least 3 years of related experience in a non-profit environment. Must have a High School Diploma/GED and valid Driver's License. Knowledge of and experience with public benefits and community resources is preferred, specifically SNAP, Medicaid, Ohio Works First, Women Infants and Children, CSFP, and the Home Energy Assistance Program.
