Community Relations Coordinator

JOB TITLE: Community Relations Coordinator
STATUS: Full Time, Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: VP of Marketing and Communications
DIRECT REPORTS: None

SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for the day-to-day administrative support for the Marketing/Communications department. This includes scheduling, managing, marketing, and facilitating logistics for Mid-Ohio Foodbank's meeting and community spaces; manages all tour requests and speaking engagements; handles and organizes inventory for on-site kiosk and all branded merchandise Engages, educates and increases the awareness about hunger with community groups and stakeholders to promote and advance the brand of Mid-Ohio Foodbank.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Create or assist in preparation, organization, and distribution of various reports, spreadsheets, data, and file maintenance.
  • Coordinates workflow between other departments and the Creative Services team on all creative brief requests.
  • Responsible for filing, photocopying, and other general administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop plans to package and promote Mid-Ohio Foodbank's meeting spaces.
  • Coordinate external meetings and provide pre-event and event day support including: audio/visual equipment, food, setup, tours, speakers, etc. as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and track internal meeting room requests.
  • Work with the Creative Services Team and other department representatives to plan and organize various special events for stakeholders/partners/etc.
  • Oversee and schedule Foodbank presence at community events.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing/Communications Team on various initiatives.
  • Schedule and manage tour training & schedules, and conducts tours for external groups (including, but not limited to: school field trips, industry professionals, prospective donors, senior centers, and community and after-school organizations). Advises appropriate Mid-Ohio Foodbank staff on touch point opportunities.
  • Act as the organizational liaison for Mid-Ohio Foodbank branded merchandise through various vendors, and develops/oversees management of on-site kiosk including logistics, budgeting, operations and product inventory/distribution.
  • Proactively reach out to community groups (senior centers, schools, etc.) to educate stakeholders about Mid-Ohio Foodbank, vision, mission and priorities.
  • Assists the Media Relations Manager in tracking media coverage and promoting the Foodbank's work through social media channels.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service at all times with both internal and external interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.

Experience: At least 2-5 years office administration experience. Previous project management experience. Previous experience working for a marketing or design firm a plus.

Knowledge: Knowledge of project management programs and content management systems is preferred. An understanding of community relations, special events and marketing/communications is required.

Skills/Competencies: Candidates should possess strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills, be computer literate, demonstrate a high level of customer service, exhibit excellent time management skills, and be detail-oriented. Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. High mission discernment capabilities.

Working Conditions: Normal Office Environment, ability to work a flexible schedule as needed for events.
