SUMMARY: This position is required to provide outstanding service to customers in any capacity. Customer Care Associate will support operations by running a register, serving meals in café and ensuring that items meet the required stock levels and presentation standards; and that cleanliness and safety standards are met or exceeded. They will also support customers attending community dinner, receiving catering and participating in Kid's Café. Customer Care Associate must be at least 18 years of age.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Ensure that each customers receives outstanding service by providing a guest friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, and all other components of guest service.
  • Possess the ability to communicate clearly and professionally while handling complaints and unpleasant customers.
  • Prepares and serves our customers through taking customers' orders and delivering food to the appropriate customer while adhering to policies and procedures including, but not limited to, portion control, quality control, and sanitation and food handling standards.
  • Operates, maintains and sanitizing various small equipment appropriate to food services (cash registers, knives, hot food holders, coolers, coffee/tea brewer, etc.)
  • Maintain an awareness and have the ability to provide general information of all product information for Café/Community meal and connect kid's café and catering customer to appropriate person.
  • Utilize proper receiving, rotation, and storage procedures to ensure safe food handling and wholesomeness of product.
  • Notify Kitchen Manager/Supervisor in advance of likely shortages before meal services and large batch preparations.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude and be flexible to shifting priorities.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance and observe personal cleanliness rules at all times.
  • Commitment to dependability and attendance standards.
  • Willingness to work with volunteers to guide them ensuring that food and personal safety standards are adhered to.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED Required. Preferred Food Safety Certification or willingness to follow food safety guidelines and regulations required by the USDA and the state of Ohio.

Experience: Preferred 6-months customer service environment experience and cash handling experience or open to gaining knowledge and experience. Preferred 6-months sanitation knowledge and food handling experience or open to gaining knowledge and experience.

Skills/Competencies: Must have excellent customer skills, basic mathematical skills, good communication, organizational and time management skills. Able to manage stressful and difficult situations and people in a professional manner. Able to manage stressful and difficult situations and people in a professional manner. Good verbal communication skills with the ability to speak, write and comprehend English. Reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to work independently and work as a team member. Ability to follow directions verbally or written. Must have the ability to multi-task while paying attention to detail. Reliability is revealed through work ethic and work performance in a fast-paced and high volume environment.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid (non-weather) and extreme cold or heat (non-weather). The noise level is usually moderate, but could increase to high. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk/hear and taste. Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch. These abilities must be able to be performed up to eight hours a day varying in-between the hours of 7am-8pm. Some night and weekend work may be required. Applicants must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
