Development Operations Manager

JOB TITLE: Development Operations Manager
STATUS: Full Time, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Sr. Director Individual Giving
DIRECT REPORTS: Gift Processing Specialist (2), Seasonal Gift Processing Specialists
 

SUMMARY:  Responsible for managing fundraising operations and support including gift processing and donor acknowledgement.  Also responsible for database management, as well as overseeing development functionality, reporting, research and research tools.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Oversee database management including donor records, gift entry, reporting and donor list generation.
  • Develop systems for automating the entry of data into the donor database.
  • Oversee the processing of all gifts and execution of gift agreements and multi-year pledges.
  • Manages the timely processing of donor acknowledgements.
  • Work with accounting and development team members to ensure that gifts are tracked and credited appropriately and balance against the general ledger.
  • Develop and implement relationship stewardship strategies for implementation in all aspects of the department's work.
  • Create tailored content for monthly acknowledgement letter.
  • Streamline workflow and ensure timely and effective operations of development operations team.
  • Manage department volunteers by recruiting and interviewing volunteers, organizing projects, and overseeing work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience is required.

Experience:  At least five years of fundraising or business development experience. Three years of experience and working knowledge of constituent relationship management software required.  Experience using Microsoft Office software required.  Previous supervisory experience preferred.  Strong project and time management experience preferred. 

Skills/Competencies:  High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to represent MOF with professionalism when interacting with stakeholders.  Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.  Proficient at task management and oversight, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, be flexible, and meet deadlines.  Works well and effectively with others. 

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions:  Normal office environment. Occasional travel may be required.
