TITLE:    Director, Annual Giving                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              STATUS:  Full Time, Exempt                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         REPORTS TO:  Vice President, Development                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               DIRECT REPORTS: Donor Relations Coordinator, Development Manager

SUMMARY:  Direct and manage a comprehensive, strategic annual giving program, including the coordination and oversight of supporting initiatives in the areas of development services, database management, and donor relations. Engages donors through direct mail, online, electronic, and workplace solicitations while enhancing donors' experiences with Mid-Ohio Foodbank.  Provide strategic long range and short range planning for growing the annual giving program and providing support for greater development goals.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Determine annual giving goals with an emphasis on individual giving. Build and implement strategic and tactical plans for achieving these goals.
  2. Coordinate high-impact communication vehicles and messaging (print and digital media) that engages and cultivates Mid-Ohio Foodbank donors.
  3. Work effectively with the Major Gift's team and key leaders to gain strong participation in annual giving and build strategies for moving donors to higher giving levels.
  4. Develop and strengthen collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners.
  5. Foster the growth of best practices in the supporting areas of gift processing, data management and donor relations as related to annual giving and Mid-Ohio Foodbank as a whole.
  6. Direct donor acknowledgement and cultivation processes and procedures.
  7. Direct development department accounting practices and monthly financial balancing.
  8. Manage donor database and direct data entry procedures, software management, and updates.
  9. Analyze and track data and segment stakeholders for various initiatives.
  10. Serve as a member of Mid-Ohio Foodbank's staff leadership team.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  B.A. in Business, Communications, or a related field.

Licenses/Designations: CFRE preferred.

Experience:  At least 5 years of demonstrated success in fundraising or a related field with two years of annual giving experience preferred.  Demonstrated experience with direct mail, online campaigns, donor database management, gift processing, and donor relations.  Experience supervising and developing others, preparing & analyzing budgets, and public speaking required. 

Skills/CompetenciesStrong leadership, managerial, and supervisory skills. Strong project management skills, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills, innovative, strategic and creative thinker, ability to foster collaborative and innovative work environment, strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software.  Must be detail oriented, have the ability to analyze data and implement campaign strategies.  Ability to develop strategic relationships with community members.  Ability to interact with diverse groups.  Strong political savvy. As a key member of the development team representing Mid-Ohio Foodbank to the community, this position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability and willingness to relate to a diverse audience and to model the mission and values of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.

 

JOB CONDITIONS:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Working Conditions:  Normal office environment.  Travels as necessary.
