JOB TITLE:  Dry Products Warehouse Specialist
REPORTS TO:  Dry Products Manager
STATUS:  Full Time, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks associated with the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food products.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Performs a variety of general duties including picking and packing, loading, unloading and proper storage of food products. Uses pallets as food is pulled from the shelves. 
• Shrink wraps and tags skids for delivery.
• Unloads food donations from food drives and individuals as needed.
• Develops and provides receipts to donors.
• Ensures that first-expired-first-out methodology is used for each order transaction.
• Restock dry food into inventory when orders are cancelled.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food distribution and warehouse areas.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies.
• Participates in special projects at the request of the Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED Required. Food Safety Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Foodbank).

Experience:  Minimum of one year of warehouse experience including use of forklift (propane and electric), electric pallet jacks/riders (4ft and 8ft) is required. Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations. Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures.

Skills/Competencies:  Must have good customer skills and mathematical skills.  Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions:  Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to: perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift  30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally).  Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling (300 lbs. with use of manual pallet jack.).  Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.  Must work in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods of time.  Some night and weekend work required.
