JOB TITLE: Agency Relations Representative

STATUS: Part-Time (32 hours per week), Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Director of Distribution Partnerships

DIRECT REPORTS: None

SUMMARY:  The primary objective of this position is to serve as the liaison between partner agencies and Mid-Ohio Foodbank (MOF) by assisting with the ongoing compliance, capacity-building, and training of partner agencies to support the general administration of the policies and guidelines of MOF; Feeding America; Ohio Association of Foodbanks, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and United States Department of Agriculture USDA as they relate to the partner operations and development. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Ensure MOF partners operate according to regulations and guidelines set by Mid-Ohio Foodbank, Feeding America, Ohio Association of Foodbanks, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services & United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)
  • Conduct initial site reviews with feeding sites to determine if agencies are suitable for MOF membership
  • Conduct orientation for new partners; coordinate annual site visits with existing partners; and conduct additional visits with partners as needed
  • Inform partners of all food programs, trainings opportunities and other services they are eligible for as members of the MOF network. Make connections between MOF agencies operating in the same region. Inform partners of other non-MOF feeding programs and support service programs available in their local community
  • Provide excellent customer service to partners. Handle agency inquiries by telephone, emails, visits and/or correspondence.
  • Maintain, review and update partners files, certifications and program profiles; provide data and information on agency activities as needed
  • Assist in readiness for all audits of MOF regarding agency files and accounts
  • Provide one on one coaching and group trainings to build partners capacity to: achieve/maintain compliance standards; effectively use PantryTrak client management system; develop ability to distribute more meals; collaborate with other feeding programs to effectively support the needs of a given geography/neighborhood; connect/refer households served with other support services & benefit programs available, Serve low-income households in ways that are respectful and meaningful
  • Assist in planning and facilitating agency-related events including annual conference, regional meetings, workshops and recognition events
  • Serve as Mid-Ohio Foodbank representative at local community coalition meetings related to hunger
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in special projects as requested

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred. Must have a valid Driver's License. Food Safety Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Foodbank).

Experience:  Experience working in a social service or non-profit capacity is preferred.

Skills/Competencies:  Must be a self-directed person with proven success for reaching set goals with minimal direction. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong communication and customer service skills.  Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.  Willingness to adjust to changing priorities.  Good interpersonal skills.  Must be proficient using Microsoft Office applications and comfortable entering and extracting information from database utilities. Candidates must represent Mid-Ohio Foodbank with professionalism when interacting with clients, volunteers, community members and Foodbank staff.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions:  This position requires travel to partner sites across the MOF service area. This is a 100% field based position; with candidates preferred from the Eastern Ohio region (Belmont, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe, Noble counties). Candidates must be willing to work primarily from home and travel to the Foodbank's Grove City facility on a monthly basis. Reliable Transportation is required.

Schedule:  Requires some evening and weekend hours.
