JOB TITLE:

Grants Manager

REPORTS TO:

Director, Grants Management

DIRECT REPORTS:

Grants Coordinator

SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the Mid-Ohio Foodbank (MOF) grant process including: prospect identification, donor outreach and cultivation, preparing and submitting grant application and reports to further Mid-Ohio Food Collective's mission.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Drive strategy to increase and diversify funding sources.
  • Manage portfolio of grant funders
  • Develop a robust pipeline of grant funders and opportunities which support MOFC's mission and vision.
  • Actively identify and vet new funders and new funding opportunities.
  • Oversee grant application process including review and analysis of RFP to include cost/benefits, eligibility, timelines, responsibilities, and submission of final application.
  • Lead grant writing and submission process.
  • Act as the lead grant writer for the organization.
  • Maintain grant activity reporting system and related confidential files.
  • Oversee post-award process including grant contract signature process, social media and grant promotion, managing grant reporting schedules and prepare required reports to comply with grant requirements.
  • Collaborate with Grants Coordinate to effectively execute all grant related tasks to ensure all funder deadlines are met.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal team members and grant funders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.

Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in grant writing, application development, report writing, data collection and analysis, outcome measurements and reporting results. Knowledge of community, corporate and family foundations in MOFC service area. Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising and proven success of goal attainment. Knowledge of grant research and proposal writing practices and principles. Experience with federal, state, and local grant funding preferred.

Skills/Competencies: Proficiency with Microsoft tools, excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess outstanding research, writing, proof reading, planning, organizing, conceptual and strategic/critical thinking skills. Must be able to communicate in a compelling and succinct manner. Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Must be able to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and be flexible to changing priorities.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Occasional travel may be required.
