REPORTS TO:

SVP of Operations - Agency Services

DIRECT REPORTS:

Market Team Leads (2) and Specialist (1)

SUMMARY:

While the incumbent Mid-Ohio Market Manager is engaged in a long-term leave of absence, this position manages the day-today operation of the Mid-Ohio Market and is responsible for supervising Market staff members and coordinating hundreds of volunteers to assure the program provides quality service for MOFC's customers. This position is also responsible for coordinating wrap-around services provided in the space to help customers access other benefits and services that will help them and their families thrive. The Mid-Ohio Market Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the entire Market operation reflects MOFC's core values of Customer-Centric, Trustworthy, Innovative Learner, and One Team.

Upon the incumbent Mid-Ohio Market Manager's return from leave, it is expected that the Interim Manager will return to their previous role.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Mid-Ohio Market to provide excellent customer service while adhering to all regulations for charitable food distribution programs.
  • Recruit, train and engage volunteers who support daily operational tasks and special project efforts in the Market.
  • Recruit, hire, train and manage Market team members, including both Leads and Specialists, to ensure consistent quality services.
  • Work with direct reports to develop annual work plans with clear goals that align with MOF strategic initiatives and conducts annual performance reviews based on those plans.
  • Work with MOFC leadership and Mid-Ohio Food Collective's Partner Council to identify innovative food distribution methods and/or program enhancements that support client-focused services.
  • Work with MOFC partners to identify and host appropriate wrap-around services that can be offered to help MOFC's customers thrive.
  • Collaborate with leadership from other Mid-Ohio Markets to develop and ensure consistent best-in-class service throughout the Market initiative.
  • Bring the voice of people accessing services into the day to day operations of the Foodbank. Work with Development and Marketing staff to assure these voices are accurately represented in Foodbank media stories and fundraising solicitations.
  • Help prepare annual program budget and manage program within that budget.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies.
  • Manage and steward all MOFC assets utilized in the operation of the Market.
  • Participate in special projects as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Licenses/Designations: Must have valid OH license and reliable transportation. Food Safety Certification (provided by MOFC)

Experience: Must have at least five years of leadership experience working in a community based setting interacting directly with individuals, families and/or children in a customer service or education capacity. Experience working/volunteering in a charitable food distribution setting is desired. Experience training, supervising and retaining both staff and volunteers is strongly preferred. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are necessary for maintaining pantry records and completing monthly/annual statistical reports.

Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.

Skills/Competencies: Strong organization, communication and people skills are required. Individuals must understand the importance of collecting data related to pantry services for evaluation and reporting purposes. Candidates must represent Mid-Ohio Food Collective with professionalism when interacting with clients, volunteers, community members and staff

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: This job requires working some evening and weekend hours. Must be able to: perform moderate to heavy physical labor (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling. Must work in various climate temperatures (coolers, warehouse, etc.). Applicants must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
