SUMMARY: Responsible for timely and accurate data entry into the inventory system for product donations, purchases, and transfers. Assists with the implementation of inventory strategies for the advancement of Mid-Ohio Food Collective product distribution. Responsible for the data input and maintenance of product and donor receipts. Assists with the preparation and distribution of regular and ad hoc inventory reports. Partners with the Inventory Manager to review inventory and systems processes.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the data input (receipting) and maintenance of product/order records and item number catalog
  • Generates receipts for all donors including direct retail pickups
  • Provides item numbers and pull locations for incoming products to members of the operations team
  • Prepares allocation pick tickets for cluster members based on defined percentages and distributes tickets to Dry and Perishable Foods Managers
  • Assists Inventory Manager with product recall monitoring and distribution
  • Maintains accurate product records and donor files to ensure effective daily operations
  • Prepares invoices for direct retail pickups
  • Assists The Emergency Food Assistance Program allocations to the Partner Distribution Organizations
  • Investigates order complaints and inventory discrepancies of any count findings that exceed the 2% of Inventory threshold and provides solutions
  • Schedules all inbound product loads and posts on incoming products calendar
  • Assists maintaining Warehouse Management System location tool for inventory on hand (pull and stock locations)
  • Performs daily cycle counts of inventories and monthly physical counts of governmental inventories and associated reports
  • Help identify, confirm, and/or reconcile physical inventory and deliveries to MOFC
  • Identifies and provides recommendations to streamline inventory visibility and tracking
  • Proactively communicates potential inventory problems to Inventory Manager
  • Educate and train warehouse team on inventory policies and procedures with a goal of consistent adherence
  • Prepares weekly Capacity Report
  • Conducts weekly audit and reporting of Pallet ID license plates and off-list inventory
  • Performs weekly audits of in-bound receipts
  • Adheres to Feeding America standards and actively participates in preparing for third party food safety audits
  • Ensures that FEFO (first expired, first out) methodology is used for each order transaction
  • Serves as administrative backup in the absence of the Inventory Manager
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with MOFC team members and stakeholders
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by Inventory Manager

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED required. Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Food Safety Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Food Collective)

Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in a fast-paced, warehouse environment. Experience should include operation of inventory control systems. Experience operating pallet jacks (manual and electric) and forklifts are preferred. Excellent knowledge of general inventory and warehouse operations, and accurate inventory control practices and procedures.

Skills/Competencies: Great math skills. Detail oriented. Excellent time management and organization skills. Clear, articulate, and grammatically correct verbal and written communication skills. Excellent critical thinking skills. Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment. Microsoft Office experience required. Previous experience with Warehouse Management Systems is preferred.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: Regularly works in both office and warehouse environments. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Daily walking, bending, and reaching. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Must work in constantly changing climate temperatures (may work in sub-freezing temperatures occasionally). Some night and weekend work required. External applicants must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
