JOB TITLE:

Inventory Floater

STATUS:

Full Time, Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:

Inventory Manager

DIRECT REPORTS:

None


SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks associated with the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food products. This position will rotate within the department as necessary to provide uninterrupted process flow.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Loads orders onto trucks for delivery to agencies. Completes bill of loading and assign seal number. Shrink wraps and tags skids for delivery.
  • Unloads donated products picked up by MOF fleet, insures proper write-up, and processing.
  • Unloads purchased products delivered by outside carriers, insures proper write-up, and processing.
  • Unloads food donations from food drives and individuals. Tags and stocks dry/perishable/frozen food onto shelves.
  • Provides receipts to food drive donors in distribution.
  • Provides administrative support for day-to-day document prep and processing.
  • Assist in Daily audits and cycle counts.
  • Learn and maintain use of the Warehouse Management System.
  • Assist is supporting Shop Thru.
  • Assist in supporting Replenishment Process.
  • Assists breaks and lunch coverage for Inventory staff
  • Assists with restock items into inventory when orders are cancelled.
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of food distribution areas. Uses pallets as food is pulled from the shelves.
  • Performs general warehouse/operations labor, as requested by manager.
  • Participates in special projects at the request of the Inventory Manager.
  • Works a weekly varied schedule based on MOF warehouse needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED Required. Food Safety Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Foodbank).

Experience: Minimum of three years of warehouse experience including use of forklift (propane and electric), electric pallet jacks/riders (4ft and 8ft) is required. Previous experience using a cherry picker is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations. Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures.

Skills/Competencies: Must have good customer skills and mathematical skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to: perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling (300 lbs. with use of manual pallet jack.). Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Must work in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods of time. Some night and weekend work required.
