Inventory Receiving Specialist for Mid-Ohio Foodbank

TITLE: Inventory Receiving Specialist 

STATUS:  Full-time, Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:  Inventory Manager

DIRECT REPORTS:  None

SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks associated with the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food products in our Perishable/Freezer deparment. 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Performs a variety of general duties including picking and packing, loading, unloading and proper storage of food products
  • Loads orders onto trucks for delivery to agencies.  Completes bill of loading and assign seal number.  Tags and shrink wraps skids to maintain safe transport and delivery of product
  • Provides accurate product information via internal forms to Inventory Manager/Inventory Specialist
  • Ensures that first-in-first-out methodology is used for each order transaction
  • Input product information and maintains the WMS locator tool
  • Assist with cycle counts
  • Replenishes pull locations daily for order selectors
  • Follows all Food Safety guidelines for receiving, storage, and distribution
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food distribution areas
  • Participates in special projects at the request of the Inventory Manager
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Certification:  High school diploma/GED required. Food Safety Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Foodbank)

Experience:  Minimum of one year of warehouse experience including use of forklift (propane and electric) and electric hand jack(4ft and 8ft). Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations. Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures. Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations.  Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures.

Skills/Competencies:  Good math skills.  Good customer service skills.   Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: Warehouse environment.  Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to: perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally).  Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling (300 lbs. with use of pallet jack). Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Must work in constantly changing climate temperatures. Must work in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods for time. Some night and weekend work required.
