TITLE: Network Administrator
STATUS: Full Time, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Vice President, Technology
DIRECT REPORTS: None
SUMMARY:
Implements, updates, and maintains computer network systems for Mid-Ohio Foodbank (MOF). Responsible for the general health and security of the computer systems and related hardware. Provides technical support for staff, volunteers, vendors and agencies. Serves as a backup to other members of the Technology department when necessary. Assists the VP, Information Technology in planning and developing the annual technology budget.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Implement, update, and maintain computer network and voice systems and infrastructure for Mid-Ohio Foodbank (MOF) including security measures such as virus protection software, system updates and patches
- Implement and configure new hardware and software solutions to meet organizational needs
- Perform technology planning through research and project planning to enhance network and security measures in collaboration with IT and other organizational areas
- Diagnose and fix problems or potential problems with the network, its hardware, software and systems
- Monitor network and systems to improve performance
- Plan and implement appropriate measures to safeguard data from accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure
- Provide help desk and technical support to MOF staff and guests
- Provide technical support and technology training for special projects and initiatives
- Create regular and ad hoc reports for internal and external reporting
- Document configurations and settings
- Create user technology tools and resources
- Assist in technology budget recommendations
- Represents IT department on focus groups and committees
- Participate in special technology projects as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:Bachelor Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field or completion of vocational/technical/business school required
Experience:At least 4 years of technology, network, and system administration experience with Microsoft windows Strong knowledge of computer networking including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NAT, network routing, basic firewall rules, multiple locations. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and server products. Knowledge of network security including advanced firewall rules, data encryption, security software. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and MS-SQL.
Skills/Competencies: Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and configure PC’s, servers, switches, routers, etc. Logical problem solving and critical thinking skills are required. Ability to multitask and manage concurrent ongoing projects is required. Must be able to represent Mid-Ohio Foodbank with professionalism when interacting with staff and MOF guests.
JOB CONDITIONS:
FLSA Status: Exempt
Working Conditions: Normal office environment. May include some evening or weekend work.
