Senior Project Manager

SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for development, implementation and management of Mid-Ohio Foodbank’s (MOF) priority strategic initiatives project plans (including but not limited to Food Is Health, South Side Roots and Kids Cafe) leading towards the realization of its mission to end hunger. This includes oversight of the full life cycle of new and developing projects. 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Assist organizational teams in defining new or innovative projects, identifying potential project scope and needs
• Lead strategic thinking sessions with team members and stakeholders to identify project requirements and preliminary outcomes of project
• Create initial business plan, project budget and implementation strategies to guide project(s)
• Identify, create and oversee progress of project team to ensure assigned tasks are being completed
• Oversee multiple aspects of project with limited supervision, interface with all areas affected by the project including stakeholders, vendors, and system support teams
• Conduct ongoing pre-mortem reviews to identify project vulnerabilities and risks and provide solutions to avoid or correct problems
• Evaluates project flow, monitors budgets, provides reports and conducts review meetings to keep project on track and enables the organization to prioritize its work
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and project team members to ensure projects are documented, prioritized and executed to address project requirements
• Provide timely updates and goal reporting
• Liaison between project management team, operations, executive team and/or other departments
• Advocate and build partnerships with civic officials to address the Social Determinants of Health
• Participate in special projects as requested.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Health or related field required. Master's Degree or Project Management Professional Certification strongly preferred. 

Experience:  Minimum of five years of project management and/or business development experience is required. Leadership experience in innovative and dynamic environments is preferred. Demonstrated success working with diverse stakeholder group both inside and outside the organization is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.  

Skills/Competencies:  Committed to the organizational mission of ending hunger. Strong project management and organizational skills are essential. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills are required. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to work cross-functionally, cross-culturally and build relationships that collaborate effectively with volunteers, partner agencies, community leaders, stakeholders. 

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions:  Work in normal office environment as well other service provider environment(s). Some travel may be required. Occasional evening and/or weekend work will be required.
