Senior Vice President of Human Resources

STATUS:

Full Time, Exempt

REPORTS TO:

President/Chief Executive Officer

DIRECT REPORTS:

Manager, Human Resources

SUMMARY: Provides human capital leadership and strategic direction to ensure that the Mid-Ohio Foodbank has an organizational effectiveness and a culture engagement strategy in place to support its vision-driven work. Creates an environment of continued growth and development and will possess the ability to establish strategic direction as well as develop & execute projects and plans that lead others to deliver outcomes.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Collaboratively leads the development, implementation and evaluation of organizational design strategies and culture change (organizational effectiveness) to support continued organizational success.
  • Responsible for defining and maintaining an up-to-date forward-looking strategic plan designed to allocate resources and identify objectives and key results (OKRs) that ensure completion of long-term goals and the mission of ending hunger.
  • Develop and implement data-driven, analytically based HR programs, plans, and policies that align the business objectives and people strategies with an ever-increasing focus to improving organizational health and culture.
  • Champion employee engagement and the broader company culture utilizing both data organizational understanding to identify key drivers, build programs and influence leaders to drive meaningful results.
  • Acts as a resource and coach with internal stakeholders to assess business opportunities and develop executable strategies to address operational needs and to drive the development of new programs and activities, in alignment with the approved strategic plan.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate diversity and inclusion initiatives and strategies.
  • Assesses, designs and implements relevant human performance processes, programs and tools to develop integrated people strategies in conjunction with organizational strategies.
  • Determines and recommends organizational structure and conducts talent needs assessments to up-skill organizational expertise and aligns resources with the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Responsible for leadership continuity, performance management, talent development, change management, and workforce planning.
  • Provide staff leadership in support of the operations and administration of the Board of Directors and its committees by maintaining on-going, transparent and effective communication.
  • Identify best practices for the Board, oversee Board orientation for new members, evaluate board member needs, evaluate board member skills, identify and evaluate opportunities for workshops and training programs, make recommendations for board member training to the board.
  • Recommends and implements new and innovative nonprofit leadership development opportunities and curriculum to encourage continuous personal and professional development that aligns with visionary and creative thinking, skills development and performance.
  • Establishes strategic partnerships with outside vendors and consultants to incorporate best practices, trends, processes, products and services into our work.
  • Provides staff leadership to the board and board committees.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with MOF team members and stakeholders.
  • Participate in special projects as requested

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational or business development or related field required; Master's Degree in related discipline strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates in assessments, coaching, development also strongly preferred.

Experience: At least 10 years of demonstrated success in a senior HR leadership role that required supervising and developing multiple levels of professional employees. Demonstrated ability and progressive work experience in organizational design & development and/or culture & engagement. Demonstrated experience in leading cross functional/client facing teams and/or managing projects. Knowledgeable about organizational behavior, learning strategy, performance management, group dynamics and change management. Knowledgeable about how organizations work; knows how to get things done both through formal channels and the informal network; Understanding of budget management. Possess strong attention to detail. Proficiency in windows based computer software including Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills/Competencies: Ability to develop strategic relationships with stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills as they relate to coaching, mentoring, learning and change management. Highly self-motivated and self- managed; ability to work independently and as a part of a team with minimal coaching or supervision. Strong consulting skills and experience with influencing leadership and managing change. Collaborative work style with ability to solicit input, influence and support decision-making. Creates a climate that can motivate many kinds of direct reports and team or project members; empowers others; invites input from team members and shares ownership and visibility. Committed to organizational mission of ending hunger.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: Normal office environment with occasional work outside in all-weather, as needed. May include some evening or weekend work. Occasional travel is required. Applicants must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
