JOB TITLE: Temporary Fresh Foods Program Specialist                                                                                                                                                                                                  STATUS: Full-Time, Non-exempt (Now-December 31, 2019) (Less than 30 hours a week)                                                                                                                                REPORTS TO: Programs Manager                                                                                                                                                                                                               DIRECT REPORTS: None

SUMMARY:  The Fresh Foods Specialist position supports the efficient and effective expansion, continued development and ongoing management the MOF fresh food partner network.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Visit and monitor produce and meal distributions sites to assure they adhere to regulations and provide appropriate distributions according to guidelines (i.e. Rural & Metro Produce Express sites & community-based Produce Market events)
  • Facilitate Produce Market trainings for new and exisiting partners
  • Make confirmation calls to produce partners hosting events and enter produce service data
  • Document information from site visits and work with Fresh Foods Program Coordinator to develop & implement coaching plans for partners when needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED required. Must have a valid Driver's License.

Experience:  At least one year experience working/volunteering with community-based or non-profit programs.

Skills/Competencies:  Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment to achieve set goals.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.  Willingness to adjust to changing priorities.  Detail oriented. Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Candidate must represent Mid-Ohio Foodbank with professionalism when interacting with customers, agency representatives, volunteers, community members and Foodbank staff.

 

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions:  Normal office environment with some travel required to partner sites across the MOF service area. May be required to do light physical labor at produce events sites and/or MOF community garden. Reliable Transportation is required. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
