Volunteer Operations Coordinator for Mid-Ohio Foodbank

Title: Volunteer Operations Coordinator
Status: Full Time, Non-exempt
Reports to: Volunteer Operations Manager
Direct Reports: None

SUMMARY: Supports Mid-Ohio Foodbank food recovery programs by creating and posting volunteer work shifts in VolunteerHub, providing customer service to current and potential Mid-Ohio Foodbank volunteers through multiple communication streams, and providing volunteer schedules to the Volunteer Operations team. 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Maintains our online volunteer registration and scheduling site by posting work shifts and volunteer job descriptions.
• Uses scheduling reports to communicate the weekly volunteer schedule to the Volunteer Operations team.
• Communicates with current and potential volunteers through email, phone, and face-to-face visits.  Provides assistance with registration, scheduling and on-line accounts.
• Coordinates the front desk volunteer check-in process.
• Participates in volunteer trainings, orientations, Q&A, and conducts tours of the facility.
• Assists in the coordination of volunteer appreciation and recognition activities.
• Prepares reports on volunteer labor production statistics.
• Participates in volunteer recruitment events as needed.
• Participates in special projects at the request of the Volunteer Operations Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: Associates degree or equivalent education and relevant experience required.

Experience:  Previous experience with volunteer or community organizing in non-profit environment is required.  Event planning experience preferred. Working knowledge of volunteer program databases and procedures. Advanced knowledge of
Microsoft Office software required.

Skills/Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret large amounts of data, and summarize into presentable information.  Excellent time management and prioritization skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external clients and volunteers.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions:  Normal Office Environment. Some travel may be required.
