Warehouse Specialist - Perishable Foods for Mid-Ohio Foodbank

This position is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks associated with the loading, storage, and distribution of donated and perishable products.   

PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Performs a variety of general duties including picking/packing, loading/unloading and proper storage of donated, cooler & perishable food products.
2. Loads orders onto both MOF & contract carrier trucks for delivery to agencies. Completes bill of lading and assign seal number. Shrink wraps and tags skids for delivery.
3. Assists in cooler area as needed in proper receipt /put-away of inbound deliveries or pulling of produce orders
4. Unloads donated products picked up by MOF fleet & insures proper write-up & processing'.
5. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food distribution/warehouse areas.
6. Participates in special projects at the request of the Perishable Manager
7. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Licenses/Designations: None

Experience: Minimum of one year of warehouse experience including use of forklift (propane & electric), electric hand jack (4ft and 8ft), and tilt trucks.

Knowledge: Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations. Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures.

Skills/Competencies: Good math skills. Good customer service skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions: Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to: perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling (60 lbs.) Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Must work in constantly changing climate temperatures. Some night and weekend work required
