JOB TITLE: WordPress Developer
STATUS: Full Time, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Strategic Solutions Developer
DIRECT REPORTS: None
 

SUMMARY: The WordPress Developer will lead and execute full-stack WordPress and LAMP development projects including but not limited to interfaces for Mid-Ohio Foodbank websites and applications, development of custom WordPress plugins, as well as the technical framework behind them.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Build, update, manage and optimize new and existing websites, associated micro-sites and applications.
• Collaborate with marketing and IT to design and build front-end and back-end solutions to projects including plugins, custom functionality and themes.
• Review site maps, wireframes, and design documents for technical feasibility.
• Manage web and application projects through their entire lifecycle.
• Update, maintain, and troubleshoot problems on existing WordPress sites.
• Write and maintain reusable and transferable code.
• Develop applications in PHP and WordPress that are supported with languages and frameworks such as Javascript, jQuery, Bootstrap and other frameworks as appropriate for the application.
• Design web interfaces to be responsive and intuitive for the end-user using HTML5/CSS.
• Design applications that will exchange information with other third party data sources and systems either through API’s or custom interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with various regulatory entities such as ADA, PCI-DSS, etc.
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies.
• Participate in other projects/tasks as requested.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

Experience:  Must have at least 3 years’ experience in Web UI Design including experience with designing responsive layouts with mobile device support; WordPress development primarily using PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript; experience in SQL Server, HTML5, CSS3, and Java Script experience preferred; Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/GitHub; Experience working with external APIs; Experience in following Web Content Accessibility Guidelines; Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Xd, Invision and Sketch for extracting graphical assets; Scrum/agile development and experience preferred; knowledge of food pantry and/or food bank operations is preferred.

Skills/Competencies:  Must be able to work in a self-managed as well as collaborative environment; Solid grammar, typing, writing and verbal communication skills; history of on-time completion of project deliverables.
